Awkwafina Awkwafina, an American singer and actress began by releasing a humorous rap track that dealt with issues of race and sexuality. The career of the singer and actress grew to Hollywood after she released an album of raps. Nora Lum began her musical journey as a trumpet player. Her birthplace was Forest Hills Queens, she was a child of Chinese immigrants and Koreans. She also received classical and jazz training later when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. After concentrating on education, she earned the degree of journalist in college and a women's studies specialization. However, it wasn't until she graduated that she turned her attention on music. My Vag, her track My Vag which was her response to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick, became a popular viral sensation via the Internet and was later featured on her debut LP Yellow Ranger. On the album, there also were viral songs like Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitche$. The latter song was linked directly to another project, Awkwafina's NYC A travel guide that was released in the year 2015. Her resume contained both an author and musician. She was now looking to further her career in acting. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors and Storks. The actress made headlines in the year 2018, with several movies that were highly regarded, such as Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her debut EP "In Fina We Trust".
